All carrier tapes are manufactured in accordance with EIA standards. Carrier tapes are made available in three different formats:

Polycarbonate - Polycarbonate is an amorphous material with excellent impact strength. Its mechanical properties allow it to be molded to very tight tolerances. Polycarbonate carrier tape is available in non-conductive (NCPC), static-dissipative (SDPC), and conductive (CPC) formats.

Polystyrene - Polystyrene is an inexpensive and hard plastic. It offers exceptional strength and stability over time and temperature variations. Polystyrene carrier tape is commonly combined with carbon and available in static-dissipative (SDPS), and conductive (CPS) formats.

Paper - Paper tape is used for smaller components, typically in the 0201 up to 1210 device size range. It is available in a half-punched or press pocket format.

Don’t forget the cover tape!
V-TEK stocks all necessary cover tapes to cover any production run. V-TEK inventories both heat and pressure seal cover tapes of every variety in widths from 8 to 56 mm. Larger tape widths are available by request.
